Search box and product page: what each line was telling you

Most orders started with a pasted link. These cards cover everything between that paste and the "Added to cart" message: the search box, the panel beside the photos, the prompts that can stop you, and the box for claiming a different price.

Home search box: shopping mode and forwarding mode

The home page carried one box with two jobs, shopping and forwarding, picked by a switch above it.

Clickable button

Go to purchase
Seen on
Button of the search box in shopping mode.
Means
Runs the search or opens the pasted listing.
Your move
If nothing loads, try the mobile-site address of the listing instead.

Clickable button

Go to forwarding
Seen on
Button of the same box in forwarding mode, where the hint asks for a tracking number.
Means
Forwarding is for parcels you bought yourself and sent to the agent warehouse. It skips the purchasing step.
Your move
Only use it when you already have a Chinese tracking number in hand.

Notice text

Shop Everything From China Without a Middleman
Seen on
Home page headline stored with the search box text.
Means
A slogan. The agent itself is the middleman between you and the Chinese seller, which is the whole service.
Your move
Read it as marketing and move on.

Short message

No search results found
Seen on
Result message after a word search.
Means
The search returned nothing for those words. A related line says no results can be given for some items at all.
Your move
Try the item in Chinese, or paste the listing address instead of words.

Error line

Image search failed
Seen on
After uploading a photo to search by picture.
Means
The photo search could not run or matched nothing.
Your move
Crop the photo to the item alone and try again; busy backgrounds confuse picture search.

Field label

Prices range from low to high
Seen on
One of four sort choices on the results page, alongside sales order.
Means
Sorts the result list by unit price.
Your move
Lowest price first often surfaces listings whose headline price belongs to a tiny option. Open a few before trusting the order.

Error line

The initial price cannot be greater than...
Seen on
Check message for the price-range filter.
Means
You typed a bigger number in the "from" box than in the "to" box.
Your move
Swap the numbers.

The info panel beside the photos

This block of short labels sat next to the product photos. Together they answer: where it comes from, how long it takes to reach the warehouse, and what it might cost to send on.

Field label

Product Origin
Seen on
Product page label naming the marketplace.
Means
Which Chinese site the listing lives on. Return rules later depend on this: Weidian and Taobao sellers had different response windows.
Your move
Note it. If it says Xianyu or another second-hand site, expect weaker return options.

Field label

{name} can purchase on your behalf
Seen on
Product page line; {name} was filled with the agent brand.
Means
Confirms the agent can buy from that source.
Your move
If the line is missing, the source may not be supported; ask before ordering.

Field label

Average Arrival Time to Warehouse
Seen on
Product page label, with a value per listing.
Means
How long goods from this seller usually took to reach the warehouse. The value came from the live site and was not archived.
Your move
Use it to compare sellers of the same item. A shorter average usually means a seller who ships on time.

Field label

Product Sales
Seen on
Sales count line.
Means
Units sold as reported by the source marketplace.
Your move
A high count with recent reviews is a better signal than a high count alone.

Field label

International shipping estimate
Seen on
Product page line, stored next to "Your address" and "{name} Warehouse".
Means
A rough onward freight figure from the warehouse to your saved address. It is a guess before weighing.
Your move
Treat it as a floor; the real bill is set after packing.

Field label

Quality Inspection Pictures
Seen on
Product page label.
Means
Earlier warehouse photos of this listing, where available.
Your move
Open them: they show the real colour under neutral light, which listing photos rarely do.

Clickable button

Product refresh
Seen on
Product page control.
Means
Fetches the listing again from the source site.
Your move
Press it when price or stock looks stale before adding to cart.

Field label

Minimum purchase quantity
Seen on
Quantity area of the product page, mostly on 1688 items.
Means
The seller will not sell fewer than this many. A sister line reads "The starting batch quantity is" followed by the number.
Your move
Check it before you fall for a unit price; on 1688 the cheapest tier often needs dozens of pieces.

Option and quantity errors on the way to the cart

Choosing a colour or size and a quantity could throw several short errors. All of them stop the add-to-cart until fixed.

Field label

specification
Seen on
Lower-case label for the option choices.
Means
The seller's option menu, copied from the source listing.
Your move
Read every option name. Menus often hide pack sizes or different materials inside what looks like a colour choice.

Error line

This type is not optional!
Seen on
Message on picking an option that is not available.
Means
That combination is sold out or not offered.
Your move
Pick another, or check the source listing for restock.

Error line

The current product specification does not exist!...
Seen on
After choosing a mix of options the seller no longer stocks.
Means
The pair you chose (say, a colour with a size) has no stock entry.
Your move
Choose again from scratch; the menu may have changed since the page loaded.

Error line

cannot exceed the available stock quantity
Seen on
Tail of the quantity error.
Means
You asked for more units than the seller lists as in stock.
Your move
Lower the number, or split the order across two sellers.

Error line

The quantity of goods purchased cannot be...
Seen on
Opening of two errors, one ending "less than", one "greater than", each followed by a number.
Means
You are below the minimum or above the maximum quantity for this listing.
Your move
Read the number that follows and adjust.

Short message

Added to cart successfully
Seen on
Message after adding to the cart.
Means
The item and your options are in the cart. Nothing is bought yet.
Your move
Open the cart and confirm the options were saved as you chose them.

Error line

Price error, please contact staff
Seen on
When a scraped price looks wrong.
Means
The page could not read a usable price for the listing.
Your move
Use the price-change box or chat; do not pay a price you cannot see.

Notice text

Sorry, this product has been removed from the shelves...
Seen on
Shown instead of the product page.
Means
The seller took the listing down. The agent cannot buy it.
Your move
Look under "Similar products" or search the seller's shop for a relisted version.

Risk and restriction prompts before the cart

Two prompts could appear before an item reached the cart. We translate them as they are written, without adding a reading of our own about what the agent wanted.

Pop-up title

Commodity risk warning
Seen on
Pop-up title shown on submitting certain listings, before ordering.
Means
A product risk prompt. The text says the item you submitted may carry risks and suggests reading them before buying. One stored label inside it reads "Brand goods".
Your move
Read it. The order could continue only after a tick, so the decision stays with you.

Field label

I have read and accept the risks
Seen on
Confirmation line in that pop-up.
Means
Your confirmation that you saw the prompt. It does not change any return or customs rule.
Your move
Only tick if you would still be happy with the item if a later step goes wrong.

Pop-up title

sorry! The product you are looking for may be...
Seen on
Lower-case "sorry!" opens a second prompt about restricted goods.
Means
The item may be on an import or export restriction list. The prompt offers two routes: a manual order that staff check, or online chat.
Your move
Ask in chat first; a manual order does not make a restricted item shippable.

Notice text

No returns/exchanges
Seen on
Short label stored with the product page text.
Means
The seller does not accept returns or swaps for this item.
Your move
Size it twice. A wrong size here is yours to keep.

Notice text

After payment, we will process your order...
Seen on
Opening of a product page line that ends with office hours.
Means
Purchasing staff worked 09:00 to 18:00 China time (UTC+8). An order paid in the evening waited for the morning shift.
Your move
Do not chase an order paid out of hours until the next working morning.

The box for claiming a different price

Sometimes the price the page read was not the price you could get. The archive keeps a small form for saying so, with a fixed list of reasons.

Pop-up title

Please select a reason for modifying the price
Seen on
Heading of the price-change form.
Means
You are asking staff to buy at a price other than the one shown.
Your move
Only use it with proof: a screenshot of the cheaper price or a chat with the seller.

Field label

Discounted price for the product
Seen on
First reason in the list.
Means
The listing has a sale price the page did not pick up.
Your move
Give the amount; a companion box asks for the exact discount so staff can check it.

Field label

the price of negotiation with the seller
Seen on
Second reason, in lower case as stored.
Means
You agreed a price with the seller in chat.
Your move
Keep that chat. Staff will confirm with the same seller.

Field label

Mobile-exclusive offer
Seen on
Fourth reason.
Means
Taobao and similar apps sometimes show lower prices than the desktop page.
Your move
Screenshot the app price with the date visible.

Error line

Price revision failure
Seen on
If the change could not be saved.
Means
The new price was rejected, often because it was zero or blank.
Your move
Enter a real amount; a separate error says the price of goods cannot be zero.

Comparing sellers on the side-panel labels

Choosing a seller is mostly a matter of reading the panel lines above for two or three listings of the same item. Put them side by side and compare four things: the average time to the warehouse, the sales count, whether earlier warehouse photos exist, and the minimum quantity. A good seller for an agent order usually shows a short arrival time and some photo history.

Then open the source listing itself. Read the option menu names in Chinese if you can, look at review photos rather than the seller's own, and check whether the shop answers chat. A seller who ships fast but labels a 2-piece pack as a colour will still cost you a return.

Two listings of the same item compared line by line on the archived panel labels, laid out by this site.

Picking the product before the seller

Deciding what to buy comes before choosing a seller: first ask whether the item itself is worth an agent order. The listings we picked for the Spreadsheet shelves on October 24, 2026 show the checks that matter, each tied to a line on the product page.

  • Waffle-knit hooded pullover with kangaroo pocket (offer 1081814311258): its size menu prints a body-weight band on every size, so you choose by weight rather than by letter
  • Waffle-texture hoodie, dropped shoulder (offer 1074054909796): the minimum quantity reads 1 but the opening price tier needs 2 pieces
  • Loose straight-leg jeans, cropped (offer 892120091110): its colour menu quietly includes elastic-waist versions and a pair of shorts
  • High-rise stretch straight jeans (offer 739820788200): its sizes are written in Chinese chi (2 feet 3 and so on) rather than inches
  • Fleece-lined hooded zip jacket (offer 1044989100298): its colour menu mixes a coat, a pair of trousers and a two-piece set under one heading

Three rules come out of those listings. Price only means something next to its quantity tier. An option name can hide a different product. And the weight that matters for freight is the packed weight, not the fabric weight printed in the listing details.
